In the ever changing world of marketing analytics there are many choices. There is lots of software and it’s really hard to understand which software does exactly what.

We were recently approach by a client with the question on how we differ from Branch.io. This is a valid question as both Branch.io and Windsor.ai are in the attribution space. That’s why I decided to write this overview page.

I’ll follow the same structure as on other vs. pages we have created.

Branch.io Overview

branch io overview

What exactly is Branch.IO on the product review platform G2.com they have a nice overview which sums it up nicely:

Branch provides solutions that unify user measurement across different devices, platforms, and channels, and deliver a seamless customer experience no matter where the user comes from. The introduction of mobile has divided today’s businesses, causing inaccurate attribution and links that don’t work, leading to wasted marketing spend and broken customer journeys. Branch fixes that by providing a holistic view of various user touch points and ensuring that links take the user to the right place on website or native app. Branch is used by the top brands in mobile including Target, Starbucks, Airbnb, Slack, and thousands more.

So what Branch.io provides a service which brings together customer journeys between devices to help marketers, data scientist and advertisers to understand the entire customer journey.

When doing Google searches like Branch.io vs. it becomes clear that they are heavily focusing on App Attribution and their main competitor is AppsFlyer. I found this overview video describes quite nicely what Branch.io is all about:

After reading and watching more about Branch.io there is also the element of cross web and app attribution which seems to be a quite important part of their offering. We integrated Branch.IO’s data into our platform and also connected Google Analytics new Web + App views to our data warehouse so for me this would also be a good comparison.

So in general after reading all the reviews and checking out all their landing pages they have I would put Branch.io as a solid choice if you are looking at deep-linking capabilities between web and app.
